TipTop had a female cria on 6/20/08. We named her Nellie and the following pictures were taken over a 2 hour period. Everything went well and both mom and baby are doing fine. Click a thumbnail to start slideshow.

How do you get alpaca fiber?
Alpacas are sheared, much like sheep, every year. Alpacas are much cooler and happier in warm weather once the fiber is removed. The fiber regrows by the time cool weather comes again.
